Haul & FOTD- Mac, Topshop, Matalan

So this is quite a lengthy post including a few mixed things and a video thrown in at the end, because I am going on holiday on Sunday for 10 days and wanted to cram in as much as possible! I went on a daytrip to Canterbury (my university town) yesterday and popped into Mac, where I treated myself to Nylon eyeshadow and Topshop, where I bought a couple of bits in the sale.
I came home to a cool new makeup storage thingy and a beach bag that my mum had picked up for me from Matalan, so I would say all of this makes a haul, wouldn't you?

First Off is Mac Nylon. I needed a highlight colour for my palette, and Have been lusting after this one for a while:
Nylon at home in it's new palette. Nylon is a Frost finish and described on the Mac site as 'pale gold' but I would say 'white gold'. Perfect inner corner & brow highlight colour (wearing my FOTD below)

And in topshop I noticed this stack of 3 Lip polishes reduced from £14(I'm not sure if this was correct labelling?) to £3! (£2.70 with my student discount ;) Bargain! What I have already from Topshop's cosmetic range I love, so I thought I'd give these babies a try.

3 shades: cherry picker, chiffon, cracker

Cherry picker, Chiffon, Cracker. (first 2 I have already tried) All have a lovely shimmer to them.
FOTD using Mac Nylon & Cherry picker lip polish:

Face: Maybelline pure cover mineral concealer, Mac studio sculpt foundation-NC15, Bourjois blush- Lilas d'or, Mac MSF-soft and gentle. Spritz of Fix+.

Eyes:Illamasqua brow cake-thunder, Mac prep+prime eye-light, Mac eyeshadows: Shroom(lid), Sable(crease), Twinks (outer corner), Nylon (inner corner & brow bone), Pixi gel liner-onyx, Maybelline one by one volum' express mascara.
Lips: Gosh Lip marker- berry, Topshop lip polish- Cherry picker.

2 summery FOTD's

Helllo there. You may have noticed if you are living in England that the weather hasn't been summery, but I am slightly in denial and am soldiering on with the summery makeup looks. Here's a couple of my recent looks, the first was worn in the daytime and the second was what I wore on a casual evening out, but still could be worn in the day.

Eyes: Illamasqua brow cake-thunder, Mac prep +prime eye-light, Urban decay pigment-x (lid), Sleek paraguaya palette- sandstone (brow bone), redstone(crease), Tangelo (outer v), Bourjois effect smokey eyeliner-71 smoked brown, Maybelline one by one volum' express mascara
Lips: Mac lipstick- vegas volt

Face: Mac studio sculpt foundation-NC15, Maybelline pure cover mineral concealer, MAC creamblend blush-something special, Jemma kidd dewy glow- rose gold

Eyes: Illamasqua brow cake-thunder, Loreal colourappeal e/s- golden beige(browbone and corners), MAC e/s: All that glitters (lid), sable (crease), sketch (deepen outer v/crease & lower lash line), Bourjois liner feutre-noir, Maybelline one by one volum' express mascara
Lips: Topshop lipstick-oh la la

The two new face products used in these looks (Laura mercier tinted moisturiser & Mac studio sculpt foundation) were actually samples I picked up from the counters. I have to say I really like both of them, especially the tinter moisturiser which is right up my street, but as a student I am not prepared to pay £30+ for it :(

Topshop Cosmetic & brush Haul+ FOTD

So today my beloved student load came through and I completed 1 of my 4 exams in the morning so I decided to treat myself (any excuse). I went to a few makeup stands willing to splash out; Mac, laura mercier, Chanel, but nothing tickeled my fancy. What did tickle my fancy was a few bits I picked up from Topshop:

Top left to right, All Topshop: Cream blush- Flush-£6, lipstick- Ohh la la-£8, Sunflower headband-£10, cosmetic sharpener-£3, Liner brush- £3, Angled brush- £4.

I have only swatched the makeup products so far but they feel like they have really nice formulas. I lovee the pinky blush and the peachy-coral lipstick, perfect for summer. As for the brushes I havn't tried them yet but they look good quality and it is so hard to find a cheap liner brush that is this thin, I've been searching a while. I've just ordered a couple of real techniques brushes so I expect a brush post will be coming soon. The flower headband is just a bit of fun to wear to my summer festival :)

FOTD: Pinky freckles

With all this recent good weather my freckles are starting to appear! I know some people hate their freckles but I personally love mine and I like to wear minimal face product and usually no foundation to let them show. Here's a fun Pinky look to showcase my new freckles:

FOTD: Golden eyes

I must appologise, I expect you're all getting tired of my FOTD's by now...but seeing as I do my makeup every day...its a given that there are alot of FOTD's, not all of them I think are worth capturing but for those ones that are a little different I like to stick on here. So here is the latest installment in my FOTD mega-seriesSo I decided to ditch the liner today, and instead I have gone for a soft gold eye with bold lip.

Face: Maxfactor weightless foundation- light ivory, Barry M red blusher, MAC msf- soft and gentle.

Eyes: Illamasqua brow cake- thunder, Bobby brown corrector- porcelain bisque, collection 2000 lasting wear concealer, Sleek primer palette-yellow, Sleek peach palette- bellini, 17 vintage love metalic nudes- gold, Sleek volume & lengthen mascara, Rimmel white eyeliner (waterline).

Lips: Mac lip pencil- Beet, Mac kissable lipcolour- Scan-delicious.

Valentines FOTD and FOTN

So this valentines day was abit of a strange one for me.. I spent the day in the library doing essay reading..(shakespeares sonnets if you must know.. fitting I suppose) and in the evening me and my boyfriend were supposed to go for a romantic meal we had prebooked, but in true student fashion we ended up getting chinese and going clubbing instead lol.

Even though the day was only spent in the library, I still felt the need to do a little valentines day look, which I course vamped up in the evening.

Here are my two looks:

As you can see this is quite a subtle, girly pink look which I think was suitable for valentines day time :)

Face: primed with superdrug vitamin E illuminating moisture cream, Maybelline mineral concealer- 02 natural, Mac venemous villains beauty powder- oh so fair, Benefit "that gal" face primer.

Eyes: Mac brow pencil- spiked, Mac prep + prime eye-light, a pearly white shadow from my pixi palette, Urban decay e/s- shotgun, Rimmel kohl liner- 071 pure white, Pixi gel liner- Onyx, Mac plush lash mascara

Lips: Mac viva glam gaga lipstick

Evening:

I dont know if you can see from these two pics but I put a line of gold glitter liner along the outside of the catseye of the black liner.

Face: Mac studio fix fluid- NW15, Maybelline mineral concealer, Mac MSF- soft and gentle, Barry M blusher- red (a tiny bit of).

Eyes: Mac brow pencil- spiked, Mac prep + prime eye-light, A very light creamy gold shadow from pixi palette, Mac mineral eyeshadow duo- odd couple (the gold), Urban decay eyeshadow- midnight cowboy strikes again, Pixi gel liner- onyx, Mac kohl pencil- smoulder, 17 starry eyes glitter liner- stardust, Mac plush lash mascara

Lips: Maybelline moisture extreme lip liner- 56 red glamour, Mac pro longwear lipcreme- prolong.
