Current favourite Lip & Eye combos

Hello everybody! First of all I have a big fat apology to make.... You may have noticed that I have been MIA for quite a while now and the only excuse I can give is that since I've come back to university for my 3rd year I have really been working my arse off and trying so hard that I just got into a bit of a non-blogging cycle :(
I'm back now, and I can't promise that my posts will be as regular as they used to be, but I definately have a few good ones in mind so watch this space.

With that out of the way, it's time to show you my current FAVOURITE eye and lip combosthese are things that I have discovered look lovely layered over eachother and actually take very little effort with a pretty result.
Here's the look:

On the lips I am wearing MAC Dervish lip pencil all over the lip topped with MAC sheen supreme lipstick in supremely confident.

And on the eyes I am wearing Topshop silky cream shadow in Glint covered in MAC sable eyeshadow.
L to R: Mac sable, Topshop Glint, Mac supremely confident, Mac Dervish.

The thing I love most about this look is that it really is minimum effort. You literally layer the products over eachother and it looks like you've spent real effort doing your makeup.

Also, before I discovered this lip combo I was really stuggling to find a way to use the supremely confident lipstick because it is just too pale alone, but over a pinky/neautral lip liner like dervish I think it looks amazing and makes my lips look really plumped.

What else I have used:
Eyes: Collection 2000 lasting perfection concealer, Illamasqua brow cake-thunder, Mac Nylon e/s (browbone), 17 liquid liner, Rimmel soft kohl-black, Rimmel Lash accelerator mascara.

Face: same concealer, Mac matchmaster foundation-1.0, Bourjois delice de soleil bronzer, 17 peach melba blush, Mac MSF-soft and gentle.

Lips: combo shown.

Thanks for reading!
Hope you havn't forgotten me!

NOTD- 17 crackle top coat- silvery/gold

So I'm sure all you beauty bloggers are aware of the recent crackle nail polish craze, and this post is another installment of that.

I have the Barry M black crackle polish already, you may have seen the NOTD's, and when browsing Boots yesterday I noticed an equally as cheap brand (17) doing a pretty silvery gold crackle polish for just £2.99

As soon as I got home I was dieing to try the polish out, so I painted my nails with a coat of cheap black polish (superdrugs MUA- just £1), covered it with 17's crackle polish then applied a topcoat.

Here is the result:

Ignore the mess around the nails, thats just my poor painting skills..and it has fallen off now and looks neater anyway :)

One thing I did notice about 17's crackle Top coat is that it didn't shrink as much as the Barry M one, leaving smaller gaps between crackles. Of course it's all down the personal preferance but I actually prefer this and think this polish has a neater, prettier effect.

Any of you tried any other crackle polishes?

Mini drugstore haul- pics, swatches & NOTD

I had a bit of a crappy morning yesterday so to cheer myself up I popped down to the local boots and superdrug and picked myself up a couple of bits :)
-From boots I picked up from number 17's new Vintage love collection the Vintage love metallic nudes mini palette and which was £5.49 (i think) and with my £5 number 7 voucher i got myself a little concealer brush :)
-In superdrug i noticed the Andrea Fullerton nailvarnish stand, which is a brand I havn't heard much about. After a little browse i noticed the Gemstone overcoat (£5.10) which is similar to the Gosh rainbow glitter I have been after. I made the purchase :)

As You can hopefully tell from the swatches below, this palette contains some really pretty colours. I noticed when swatching that the colour payoff is brilliant, I only had to lightly dab my finger in the product to get these swatched. Also they are super metalic, similar I suppose to Macs Mega metal eyeshadows. Cant wait to try these colours out on my eyes.

I really like this topcoap. The glitter flakes are irridescent and sparkle orange, yellow, green & blue when u move your fingers around. I coated this over Rimmel 60 seconds- deliciously dark (a matte colour)

Have any of you picked heard of of used any Andrea Fullerton polishes?

Valentines FOTD and FOTN

So this valentines day was abit of a strange one for me.. I spent the day in the library doing essay reading..(shakespeares sonnets if you must know.. fitting I suppose) and in the evening me and my boyfriend were supposed to go for a romantic meal we had prebooked, but in true student fashion we ended up getting chinese and going clubbing instead lol.
Even though the day was only spent in the library, I still felt the need to do a little valentines day look, which I course vamped up in the evening.
Here are my two looks:

As you can see this is quite a subtle, girly pink look which I think was suitable for valentines day time :)

Face: primed with superdrug vitamin E illuminating moisture cream, Maybelline mineral concealer- 02 natural, Mac venemous villains beauty powder- oh so fair, Benefit "that gal" face primer.

Eyes: Mac brow pencil- spiked, Mac prep + prime eye-light, a pearly white shadow from my pixi palette, Urban decay e/s- shotgun, Rimmel kohl liner- 071 pure white, Pixi gel liner- Onyx, Mac plush lash mascara

Lips: Mac viva glam gaga lipstick

Evening:

I dont know if you can see from these two pics but I put a line of gold glitter liner along the outside of the catseye of the black liner.

Face: Mac studio fix fluid- NW15, Maybelline mineral concealer, Mac MSF- soft and gentle, Barry M blusher- red (a tiny bit of).

Eyes: Mac brow pencil- spiked, Mac prep + prime eye-light, A very light creamy gold shadow from pixi palette, Mac mineral eyeshadow duo- odd couple (the gold), Urban decay eyeshadow- midnight cowboy strikes again, Pixi gel liner- onyx, Mac kohl pencil- smoulder, 17 starry eyes glitter liner- stardust, Mac plush lash mascara

Lips: Maybelline moisture extreme lip liner- 56 red glamour, Mac pro longwear lipcreme- prolong.

I hope you all had a lovely valentines day.

Happy shopper

So there was a free gift deal in the number 17 section in Boots today and I decided to check it out. The deal was spend £6 and geta free eyeshadow palette. I know free gifts can sometimes be abit naff so i opened it up to have a look and i loved it!
I bought a gold glitter liner (cause i was feeling festive) and a pretty blush duo called 'peaches and cream' and got my lovely 'glam rock eyeshadow palette' free.
I am especially happy with the palette because it contains all the sorts of colours that i go for on a night out, and comes complete with a mirror :)
so here it is:
