My life in photos: Whitstable day trip

So I have seen these 'life in photos' posts floating around and always thought they were a good idea, So after taking a few photos on a day trip to Whitstable yesterday I thought I'd give you all a glimpse of the day I had.
I went up with my boyfriend to our University in Canterbury yesterday (well only my university now, he's graduated) to hand some books in, and after that we took a drive to the little seaside town 10 minuites away, Whitstable. Whitstable is a really cute place with plenty of fish resturaunts (I wouldn't reccomend going there if you don't like the smell of fish!), a pebble beach and some really unique shops. We ended up hanging out and having fish and chips on the beach front, having a browse through the shops and then heading home. Here are some pictures I took:

A little Vintage clothing hut on the beach front

Knitted bikes?!
My favourite shop in whitstable: Taking the plunge. They stock all sorts of random bits and really pretty jewelery.

Sweet shop..mmm

CUTE!

Chillin in an oyster-shell wigwam

So that was Whitstable!

Bourjois Delice de Soleil bronzing powder- Review & Demo

So you may have noticed from my last couple of FOTD's that I have been wearing bronzer (infact I have been wearing it every day for the last week) which is extremely rare for me! The reason for this is because I picked up Bourjois' new bronzing powder in shade 12-light/medium to help me maintain a bronzed look after my holiday. I really love this product and If you are interested in seeing my review then watch the video below :)

A picture of the bronzer above. I think this picture is the darker shade

Dramatic Emerald Eyes

So you may have gathered that I am loving bold coloured makeup looks this summer, which is why I thought I'd dig out my quite recently purchased Nars eyeshadow duo in Misfit and take it for a spin.
I'm not going out anywhere today so I was just experimenting, and what I came up with is I think a great bold evening look.
First off, heres the gorgeous Misfit duo:

The lighter colour is a lovely nude with TINY flecks of glitter and the Emerald-y colour is really unique, it's a mixure of teal and emerald and also has flecks of glitter.

I realise this look may not be to everyones taste because it is quite bold, but I was just experimenting :)

Mac studio sculpt foundation- NW15, Bourjois Delice de soleil bronzer- light/medium, Maybelline dream touch blush-apricot
Eyes: Illamasqua brow cake-thunder, Mac prep+prime eye-light, Nars Misfit duo, Mac Nylon (highlight), Mac eye kohl-smoulder, Maybelline one by one volum' express mascara

Festival favourites, post-festival saviours & Haul

Helloo everyone, hope you have all been well. Hopefully you will have read my last post and will know that the reason for my lack of blogging is because I have been at Benicassim Festival in spain for 10 days, and to be honest I have needed the last 2 days just to recover! But now I am back and I promise you lots more regular rachy posts. So this post is just a simple one to ease me back into blogging (feels like I've been gone forever!) with a couple of pictures from my festival holiday and quite a lengthy video. Enjoy! Me with friends. The boys were going for 'smart-casual' hence the tux tshirts

Frowning and freckly on the beach
My and my friend Cyd. Random glitter on my face and Mac Lucky green on my eyes.

Enjoying some fine 1 Euro sangria! Green iguana and Martini from Sleek Caribbean palette on my eyes.

Bon Voyage!

So my lovely followers, this post is me saying goodbyeee as I am going on holiday today for 10 days! I am going to Benicassim festival in Spain. I went last year and it was amazinggg but the whole camping thing made it too much effort for phones etc so I am going to have to go 10 days without my phone, blogging, twitter, facebook, you name it! It might just kill me :( But do not fear when you don't hear from me, I'm just in the middle of spain somewhere camping, and I promise some juicy posts when I'm back.
Here's the headliners this year, if you're interested:

The music at the festival starts in the evening and goes through the night so that you don't melt in the sun, and the idea is to sleep through the day. It is far too hot to sleep in a tent in that heat so luckily there is a beach down the road from the campsite where we spent most of our time last year :)
A couple of pics from last year:

So now you can see what I'm in for again this year: Sun, sea, sand, Lidl bread rolls, Vodka and questionable meats.
See you in 10 days! (plus a couple of recovery days)

Haul & FOTD- Mac, Topshop, Matalan

So this is quite a lengthy post including a few mixed things and a video thrown in at the end, because I am going on holiday on Sunday for 10 days and wanted to cram in as much as possible! I went on a daytrip to Canterbury (my university town) yesterday and popped into Mac, where I treated myself to Nylon eyeshadow and Topshop, where I bought a couple of bits in the sale.
I came home to a cool new makeup storage thingy and a beach bag that my mum had picked up for me from Matalan, so I would say all of this makes a haul, wouldn't you?

First Off is Mac Nylon. I needed a highlight colour for my palette, and Have been lusting after this one for a while:
Nylon at home in it's new palette. Nylon is a Frost finish and described on the Mac site as 'pale gold' but I would say 'white gold'. Perfect inner corner & brow highlight colour (wearing my FOTD below)

And in topshop I noticed this stack of 3 Lip polishes reduced from £14(I'm not sure if this was correct labelling?) to £3! (£2.70 with my student discount ;) Bargain! What I have already from Topshop's cosmetic range I love, so I thought I'd give these babies a try.

3 shades: cherry picker, chiffon, cracker

Cherry picker, Chiffon, Cracker. (first 2 I have already tried) All have a lovely shimmer to them.
FOTD using Mac Nylon & Cherry picker lip polish:

Face: Maybelline pure cover mineral concealer, Mac studio sculpt foundation-NC15, Bourjois blush- Lilas d'or, Mac MSF-soft and gentle. Spritz of Fix+.

Eyes:Illamasqua brow cake-thunder, Mac prep+prime eye-light, Mac eyeshadows: Shroom(lid), Sable(crease), Twinks (outer corner), Nylon (inner corner & brow bone), Pixi gel liner-onyx, Maybelline one by one volum' express mascara.
Lips: Gosh Lip marker- berry, Topshop lip polish- Cherry picker.

Also from Topshop:

'R' bracelet on purple string- reduced to £2

Matalan beach bag:

Lovely and bright with rope handles. £6

And my new bright makeup storage thingy, also from Matalan (Thanks mum!):

How pretty.
And now here's a little video I filmed once I put all of my stuff into it; A makeup collection and storage video if you will:

Super bright Sleek Caribbean eye look!

Warning: this post may contain bright colours!
With that warning out of the way I will just let you know that this eye look was is a huge step out of my comfort zone, and I wasn't actually brave enough to wear it out, but it was really just about experimenting with some of the colours in the new Sleek Caribbean palette (swatched in my previous post).
The reason I bought this palette is to take to the festival in spain I am going to, as I anticipate feeling bold and wanting to try out brighter colours on myself and friends.
So here is the eye look I created with some of the blue toned colours in the palette. The look was very easy to do as the eyeshadows are so pigmented and easy to work with and blend.

shades used:Blue Hawaiian (lid-inner) Green iguana (lid-outer), Apres midori (crease), Green martini (crease), Blue lagoon (under eye-inner), Purple haze (under eye-outer), Expresso martini (lower lash liner) Martini (browbone & inner corner)

Other products used:
Eyes: Rimmel white eyeliner (waterliner), Bourjois Liner Feutre (to line lid), Maybelline one by one volum' express mascara.
Lips: Barry M lip pencil- bright pink, Sleek matte lipstick-heartbreaker

Let me know what you think!
