Products I will NEVER let near my skin again!

Now this post is a little warning to those of you who like me, have sensitive skin. Scrap that, my skin isn't even that sensitive, these products are just made by the devil!

These 3 products are all advertised as 'sensitive skin' products and are all frangrance free and all that jazz, so this should never have happened anyway.
If you're wondering what I'm talking about, I'm talking Spots, I'm talking bumps on my forhead that look like developing devil horns, I'm talking a horrific tzone and a rash that covers a whole side of my face. This sounds horrible, and it was/is (im still recovering). I have never in my life had a breakout this bad. Friends suggested it might be due to diet or stress and although I have been bogged down with exam revision, I really don't feel that stressed. As for diet, nothing has changed. Now you can understand why I havn't included a picture of this horrific breakout, firstly I'd rather give up marmite for life and secondly, you'd probably stop following me.

Here's the suspected lineup:

Superdrug simply pure gentle eye makeup remover, Superdrug simply pure calming cleanser, Simple kind to skin replenishing rich moisturiser.

Now I'm not sure which of these f***ers is the guilty culprit but it's definatly one of them. I brought them all on the same day and starting using them all together. The breakout occured after about 2 days, worsened, and how now lasted about 6 days.

I am really frustrated about this because the whole reason for my buying these products is because I was buying sensitive skin products on a budget. Fair enough if these products didn't work so well, as they were cheap, but this definatly should not have happened!

That said, I took my purse back down to boots (which I shouldn't have had to do) to buy some products to repair my poor little face. Obviously the brilliant brands are too pricey for my student budget so I shopped around carefully for cheaper products I am familiar with which are more gentle on the skin.

My saviour products are these:

Garnier soft essentials dry & sensitive skin cleansing milk, (same brand) soothing toner, E45 cream.
These products were all cheap (Garnier 2 for £4 and E45 £1.99) so didn't break the bank, but as I said, I shouldn't have had to buy them anyway.

The reason I chose these is because i've used the garnier ones before and they had a nice scent and were lovely on my skin, and you can't go wrong with E45. Ive just cleansed and toned my face and applied the E45 cream all over and I have to say, my skin feels immediately better and less itchy and sore. The E45 cream isn't really ideal for everyday use as it's quite greasy but I'm just going to let it sink in and work its magic.

So the moral of this horror story is an unresolved one: I don't know what to do. Should I storm into boots and demand my money back (i've lost the reciept), which I really hate doing, or should I just accept that there are some just some products out there that will do the complete opposite to what they advertise, and more?

Please let me know if any of you have had similar experienced and with what products and what you did about it.

Colourful superdrug haul: Gosh, Revlon & FOTD

So today I packed up revision early and went to Superdrug to reward myself for the measly amount of work i'd done. Here's my purchases:

1. colourful Babyliss hairbands- my hair has finally grown long enough to tie up so I invested in some bright hairbands to go with all the bright makeup i'm feeling lately.
2. Revlon super lustrous gloss in 170 Coral reef- My first revlon lipgloss and I am very impressed.for £6.99 this gloss is reasonable and the colour is a gorgeous peachy coral with no glitter.

3.Gosh mono eyeshadow in Golden green- this pretty acid green caught my eye immeditly and the colour reminds me of the eyeshadow colour Pixiwoo Sam used in the Katy Perry look a while ago.

4. Gosh velvet touch eyeliner in 009 Golden globe- in Superdrug they are doing a deal on the mono eyeshadows where you get one of these eyeliners free (so both came to £5.99), and I chose this pretty yellowy-gold.

Swatches:

Gosh velvet touch eyeliner-golden globe, Gosh mono eyeshadow- golden green, Revlon lipgloss- Coral reef

And of course everytime I buy any new makeup I get excited and go home and try it on. Here's what the eyeshadow and lipgloss look like:

I loveeee this look, it was a really simple look and I can tell is one i'll be wearing alot over the summer.

(I also used Mac virgin isle on the cheeks and Pixi Gel eyeliner)

Happy (Royal) Wedding Day!

It's finally here!! I'm not quite sure if anyone is as excited as me, but I hope you all are.
My plans for today are getting up ridiculously early to go to Hyde Park to watch the wedding on the big screens (we have to get there super early because they are only letting a certain amount of people in) I'm then coming home hopefully in time to catch the street party my road is having. It's all very exciting!
Here are a couple of British bits I have treated myself to:

Lush Street party bath bomb, Will & Kate mug (£6 Marks and Spensers)

The Bunting is officially up!

Hope you all have a good day!

INGLOT e/s palettes: swatches & FOTD

Yesterday I trekked it all the way to Westfields shopping centre, mainly to check out the INGLOT store and get some eyeshadows in the freedom system. For those of you who don't knoe, the freedom system is basically where you pick an amount of eyeshadow pans (5, 6 or 10) to go in a free palette. You can choose from circular or square pans (the square are larger therefore slightly more expensive)

There was a huge range of colour so I got to picking straight away. The idea was I was going for a neutral-ish palette and a smokey one. Here's the two I came out with:

-These two palettes cost about £21 each which I think is fantastic value compared to mac (the pans are also slightly bigger than mac and to me the quality of product feels just as good)
-I realise now that looking at my colour choice I chose quite autumny looking colours but I think they will work for my colouring in the summer aswell. The darker palette is for me to experiement more with grey-ish smokey eye looks.

Closer look at neautral palette & swatches:

Unfortunately the colours don't come with names, just numbers on the bottoms of the pans but as you can see this palette has a glittery cream, gold, a couple of shimmery browns and a khaki type colour.

Closer look and swatches of grey/smokey palette:
In this palette there is a pretty pearly white to highlight and different shades and depths of grey (some more blue, some more plummy)

And here is my FOTD using the neutral palette: I used the 1, 2 and 4th colours in the neautral palette. I also used MAC eyeliner in rosmary & time (to the beach collection) and MAC creamblend blush- something special.
The lipstick I used was amongst another couple of things I picked up on my trip to westfields:

1. Marks & spensers lipstick -wild geranium (£6)

2. Next nail polishes in mink & Coral (£2 each)

There you go!

Anyone else have any inglot palettes? What kind of colours do you have?
